Founded in 2022 by Sean Marshall, Skylar Fast and Kent Moore, our team of industry experts invests in non-operated oil and gas development in the lower 48. Our primary focus is the Permian Basin, but we are active in Colordo's DJ Basin, Wyomings Powder River Basin, The Eagle Ford, and North Dakota's Williston Basin.

Sean Marshall has decades of leadership experience in the oil and gas industry, holding key roles at Centennial Resource Development, Encana, and Source Energy Partners. A licensed attorney, he began his career as a landman and attorney at Hawkeye Oil & Gas, focusing on assets across the southeastern U.S.A. He is the founder of the Permian Summit Foundation, which raises funds for underserved causes in the Permian Basin. He has served in various leadership roles in industry associations, including the Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA) and the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). Sean holds a BS from the University of North Texas and a JD from the University of Alabama, along with post-graduate executive studies in petroleum economics, corporate evaluation, and corporate sustainability. He is a Certified Professional Landman and licensed to practice law in Texas, Colorado, and Alabama.
Kent Moore is the owner of Eagle River Ventures, LLC, which holds working interests in oil and gas wells, along with other real estate. From 2011 to 2021, Moore held various roles at Source Energy and Resource Energy, both private equity-backed ventures. Prior to that, he co-founded High Sierra Energy GP and LP, Foothills Energy Ventures, LLC, and American Midstream Partners, LP. Foothills focused on a natural gas storage field, which was sold to a third party, while High Sierra was sold to NGL in 2012. American Midstream went public, and the GP was sold to Arclight Capital. Moore served on the compensation and audit committees at American Midstream. From 1997 to 2001, Moore worked in the mutual fund industry at Janus Capital and Marsico Capital. Earlier, he co-founded and sold Caza Drilling Company and served as president. He began his career at Exeter Drilling Northern Inc. Moore holds a B.S. in Industrial Management from Purdue University.
Prior to forming Mestengo, Skylar served as Business Development Land Director at Permian Resources, originating and closing acquisitions, divestitures, trades, and strategic opportunities. From 2016-22, he held leadership roles at Centennial Resource Development (now Permian Resources), where he helped grow land assets from 18,000 acres to 100,000 acres through A&D transactions and acreage trades, including leading a transformative $855MM acquisition. From 2015-16, he was Lead A&D Land Negotiator at Ovintiv, managing a multi-operator, basin-wide data trade initiative and a 14-rig drilling program. Before Ovintiv, Skylar owned and operated SkyCo Land, working as an independent landman. He serves on the board of the Permian Summit Foundation and is involved with Project Healing Waters. Skylar holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a member of ADAM A&D Network, AAPL, PBLA, and DAPL, holding a CPL designation.
